2024 Lok Sabha Elections: Pashupati Kumar Paras, President of the RLJP, steps down as Union Minister

As minister of food processing industries, Union Minister Pashupati resigned on Tuesday. With his Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), the minister charged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was committing “injustice” by keeping it out of the seat-sharing agreement with allies for the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.

After the BJP-led NDA announced its seat-sharing agreement and awarded five seats to the LJP (Ram Vilas) led by Chirag Paswan, disregarding the claims of his side, Pashupati Kumar tendered his resignation.

The ‘Donate for Desh’ campaign by the Congress is criticized by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.

“Injustice has been meted out to my party and especially me,” he stated.

Following a midterm Cabinet reorganization, Pashupati Kumar became a member of the Cabinet in July 2021, serving as the minister of food processing industries.
